Peter played his university football at Carleton Unverstiy. He then spent 8 years with the Ottawa Roughriders, from 1975 to 1982. In the first three years of his career Peter was a defensive back and then moved to slot back for five years. Peter went to the Grey Cup twice, winning it in 1976 with Ottawa.
