Mauer is best known with Edmonton where he was named the top Canadian in the 2006 Eskimos' Grey Cup victory over Montreal. He was also part of the BC Lions Grey Cup Championship Team in 2000. This Saskatoon native broke into the league in 1998 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, as a productive fullback and special-teams player. Mike went on to play for Ottawa, then BC and then finished his 10 year career in 2007 in Edmonton.
